My father was born in the Netherlands. His paternal line,
van der Mark comes from Zuid or South Holland near Leiden.
His maternal side, Pansier, comes from Gelderland between Nijmegen and Arnhem where the allies faced a major defeat during WWII as shown in the movie "A Bridge Too Far."
The Pansier and van Welij families were French Huguenots.
