Mid-lothian, Kansas now Freeport, Kansas was started by a group of families who migrated there from Jubilee College outside Peoria, Il. It is now Jubilee College State Park.

Jubilee College was founded by Bishop Philander Chase and closed after the Civil War. Many of the families connected to this college, mostly relatives of Bishop Chase, migrated to the Osage Indian lands in Kansas. They started a town, built a church and established a graveyard. It was a thriving community until the Oklahoma land rush. Most of these families lost their land and they moved on.

I plan to post information on this community and the families who made it.
